From traditional to plug cultivation
Family business with 6 generations
De Douglas Boomkwekerijproducten BV is a family business with a passion for growing strong and healthy plug plants. The 1st generation of the Domen family began sowing pines in the 18th century, which established a solid foundation for the company, where each subsequent generation has continued to evolve.
In 1989, Andy took over the nursery as the 5th generation. Under his leadership, traditional open-ground cultivation was successfully transitioned into specialized plug cultivation, marking a significant step toward the future of the company.
Since 2008, the 6th generation has gradually become active within the company, consisting of Eline, Eva and her partner Kevin, and Melanie. Together with Andy, they form a team where experience and innovation converge.
Origin of the logo
The family business used to grow Douglas fir saplings. Coincidentally, on August 29, 1970, the Douglas DC-10, a three-engine widebody aircraft, made its maiden flight. The name of this aircraft coincided nicely with that of the Douglas fir. This special similarity served as the inspiration for our logo.
